The Brizo Artesso Faucet Collection, new out in 2014.

This pot-filler is in the Brizo Artesso Faucet Collection, unveiled at KBIS.

The Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) recently wrapped in Las Vegas and one of my favorite faucet manufacturers, Brizo®, released some sensuous new products at the 2014 show. I have this company to thank—along with Paul Anater—for some of the most remarkable design industry relationships I’ve ever made. They introduced me to Carmen Natschke, Johnny Grey, Chuck Wheelock, Susan Serra, Kelly Moriseau, Cheryl Nagle Kees Clendenon, Ann Porter, Andie Day and Sabrina Velandry IRL, as we were among the original Blogger19, a group brought together by Brizo to attend New York Fashion Week in February 2010 to experience Jason Wu’s runway show. We were there to sew the seeds of social media about the experience: ah, those were the early adopting days of fresh-faced tweets and only a smattering of photosharing, weren’t they?

Brizo has had a remarkable collaboration with Wu since 2006, one of the smartest branding moves I’ve ever seen a design company make, as was tapping the group of mouthy content creators we were, each of us hungry to take the helm of our own marketing destinies and build our social media platforms! But enough about me…the point of this post is not meant to be a walk down nostalgia lane but a survey of some exceptional new products.

The Brizo Rook Faucet Collection newly released at KBIS 2014.

Brizo is known for pushing design innovation within the kitchen and bath industry with developments such as Smarttouch Technology, and their new debuts are no exception. The Artesso™ collection, shown up top, is one of the company’s single-handle articulating kitchen faucets inspired by the timeless design and definitive functionality of an architect’s lamp. Given the form, it’s no surprise Artesso’s style takes its design personality from early 20th-century metal works.

The Rook™ bath collection shown above, envisioned by interior designer Richard Herb, owes its inspiration to classic chess pieces. The suite of products comes with a number of options and features, and in a number of finishes—offering versatility aplenty, another hallmark of this luxury brand under the Delta Faucet Company umbrella.

Brizo Sotria Faucet Collection, new in 2014.

The Brizo Sotria Faucet Collection, unveiled at KBIS.

The Sotria™ collection with its harkening to midcentury modern style is geometrically accentuated, its triangular silhouette a distinctive design note. “We took a cue from the streamlined architecture of airplanes and tail fins of classic 1950s cars to develop the unique shape of the Sotria bath collection,” explains Brizo product manager Kristen Baum. “The versatile finishes, including our newest textured nickel, paired with a range of configurations and spout choices help make the Sotria suite one of our most striking bath collections to date.”

It’s marvelous to see how the design team at Brizo continues to push the envelope toward nuance, one of the points-of-view I’ve always appreciated about the brand. I’ll be featuring Jason Wu’s new collection on Productrazzi next week when #MBFW gets underway, so stop in and take a peek at the fashion designer’s new take on the bath and powder room as he unveils his new haute couture creations in NYC.
